High Performance Cleaning
- General Cleaning w/Press Wring Bucket
- Fill bucket with desired volume of cleaning solution.
- Place microfiber flat mop into bucket and maneuver bucket to desired location.
- Lift mop onto sieve and holding handle upright (perpendicular to floor), press straight down and wring pad to desired wetness. Bucket should not move.
- Place mop on Floor and use until pad dries out.
- Repeat steps 2-4 as required.
- To empty, pour contents from bucket into a sink or drain using one of the front corners as a pouring spout.
- Finish Mopping
- 1. Wet mop recently stripped floor before applying finish (wax) to provide a clean surface.
- Use a handle style of choice with an 18" holder and the 18" Finish Pad for a smoother, even application.
- Pour finish into Press Wringer Bucket and dip mop, coating only the pad surface. Wring lightly on sieve to drain excess finish.
- Starting at a far corner or end of hall, outline a section and begin applying finish to one section at a time using "Figure 8" strokes.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 as necessary to complete the job.
- Promptly remove and rinse finish from pad and holder using hot water.
- Empty unused wax from bucket into covered container for storage and reuse.
- Note: Do not submerge swivel mechanism on holder into finish.
- Wall Washing
- 1. High dust before washing walls.
- Use an adjustable handle with smaller size pads and holders (11" or 18") for better reach and control.
- Wet pad in Press Wringer Bucket with preferred cleaning solution and wring lightly to prevent dripping.
- Starting at the ceiling in a far corner, use long, even, vertical strokes to clean. Overlap strokes slightly to insure coverage.
- Working backwards toward the door, repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed to complete the job.
- Note: Use 18" Scrubber Pad for cleaning into tile grout lines.

Q&A - General Use
- Is there a benefit or need to launder pads before use?
- No, laundering is not necessary before using pads.
- What happens if fabric softener is used on microfiber products?
- Fabric softener coats and clogs the microfiber making it less effective in cleaning. This effect can be reversed by rewashing according to directions.
- What happens if bleach is used on microfiber products?
- Using chlorine bleach will aggressively degrade the pad and backing. There is no way to reverse the effects of bleach.
- Why is the 18" Finish Pad trapezoidal versus rectangualr in shape?
- When applying floor finish(wax), it is important to coat only the floor and not the baseboards. The trapezoidal shape conforms to the frame and there is now pad overhang to curl up on vertical surfaces.
- What is the difference between the General Purpose and Glass Cloths?
- The yarn used in both is the same. The difference is in the knitting processes...the result is a general purpose cloth with a looser terry look and a glass cloth with a tighter, flat weave to minimize linting.
- Can microfiber be used to clean Plexiglas?
- Yes, it can be used to clean plastics like Plexiglas. In fact, eyeglass-cleaning cloths are generally microfiber and most eyeglass lenses are plastic.
- Are microfiber cloths resistant to petroleum?
- Yes, microfiber, polyster and nylon yarns are chemically resistant to petroleum (grease, oil, lubricants, etc.)
Q&A - Healthcare
- Can Rubbermaid's frames and handles be used for cleaning MRI rooms?
- Yes, frames and handles have non-ferrous (non-magnetic) metal construction (aluminum with stainless steel rivets) and are safe for use in MRI rooms. However, we do not recommend using while MRI machine is operating.
- Can Rubbermaid's microfiber products be autoclaved?
- No, neither pads nor tools can be autoclaved...process temperatures exceed microfiber and ABS plastic maximum tolerances.
- Can a germicide be used to clean pads in lieu of laundering?
- No, CDC guidelines require laundering with a detergent to emulsify dirt, grime and oils from the microfiber pad or cloth.
